All the courses offered through Cutting Edge Training are hands on while providing practical experience in the seat of a machine. Safety is a main area of focus both in the industry and in the training facility. You will be taught not only how to run equipment, but how to perform requested tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Following is a general guideline for courses, hours and being offered; although all of the courses can be tailored to accommodate an individual’s specific industry focus.
Specialized Earth Mover
- 5 weeks – total 200 hours $11,800.00
- 125 hours excavator
- includes a minimum of 5 hrs on each of Articulated Rock Truck, Dozer and Rubber Tired Loader
Diversified Earth Mover
- 6 weeks – total 240 hours $13,950.00
- 150 hours operating four (4) of the following pieces of equipment with a minimum of five (5) hours on each machine: excavator, loader, dozer, and Articulated Rock Truck
- Includes Air Brake Certificate
Skilled Earth Mover
- 7 weeks – total 280 hours $16,700.00
- 185 hours operating four (4) of the following pieces of equipment with a minimum of five (5) hours on each of the 4 chosen pieces of equipment: excavator, loader, dozer, grader, and articulated rock truck
- Includes Class 3 driver training
- Includes Air Brake Certificate
Master Earth Mover
- 12 weeks – total 450 hours $24,800.00
- 370 hours operating four (4) of the following pieces of equipment with a minimum of twenty-five (25) hours on each of the following equipment: excavator, loader, dozer, grader, and articulated rock truck
- Includes Air Brake Certificate
Professional Driver Training
If you wish to incorporate driver training for either a class 3 or class 1 (you must already have your learners license and air brake endorsement prior to entering the course), you can add the following packages to the master earth mover training program above:
- Class 3 Driver Training, incl. the use of an appropriate vehicle for ICBC road test – an additional $1,300.00
- Class 1 Driver Training, incl. the use of an appropriate vehicle for ICBC road test – an additional $2,250.00
Specific Machine Training
For individuals looking for a refresher course
- Grader - 2 weeks (incl. Air Brake Certificate) - $5,800.00
- Loader - 2 weeks (incl. Air Brake Certificate) - $5,800.00
- Articulated Rock Truck - 2 weeks (incl. Air Brake Certificate) - $7,800.00
- Dozer - 2 weeks - $5,800.00
- Backhoe - 3 weeks (must have a valid un-restricted class 5 driver’s license) - total 120 hours - $5,800.00
- Skidsteer (Bobcat) - 2 weeks- $5,500.00
All courses noted above also include the following standard industry related safety courses:
- WHIMIS
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
- First Aid – Level 1
- GD (Ground Disturbance)
Registration Fee $150.00 (one-time, non-refundable fee)
Once you are registered you will receive a letter of acceptance outlining your selected course(s), costs, available accommodations and relevant information pertaining to your course and area of interest.
The individuals attending these courses will also be required to bring their own PPE (personal protective equipment), which includes: CSA approved Steel Toed Boots, Hardhat, Hi-vis Vest, Ear Protection, Safety Glasses & Gloves.
